Pacific Offshore Wind Summit
This event brought together more than 700 state and federal officials, industry leaders, and other stakeholders, and helped mobilize support and build momentum for California to meet its ambitious planning goals to generate up to 5 gigawatts (GW) from offshore wind by 2030 and a nation-leading 25 GW by 2045. It also set the stage for passage by California's Legislature in September 2023 of the ground-breaking legislation to establish a robust mechanism to facilitate procurement and ensure a clear path to market for large-scale clean energies like offshore wind. AB 1373, with strong support from the Governor, provides a vital tool to help California invest at scale, build at scale, and procure at scale for the long lead-time renewable resources the state needs to complement its clean-power portfolio and meet its climate, clean-energy, and grid-reliability goals.
