Chair — Tony AppletonOffshore Wind Director, Burns & McDonnell
With over 25 years of experience in the energy sector, Tony Appleton leads offshore wind initiatives for Burns & McDonnell. Tony has worked across conventional thermal power, gas, and nuclear generation markets. Previously a consultant for Burns & McDonnell, he has spent the last 15 years leading organizations and teams in the Offshore Renewables and Interconnection global markets, working on over 35 offshore wind farms across the globe.

Vice Chair — Suzanne Plezia, P.E., Senior Director and Chief Harbor Engineer, Port of Long Beach’s Engineering Services Bureau
Suzanne is Senior Director of the Port of Long Beach’s Engineering Services Bureau. Her position also holds the title of Chief Harbor Engineer, in charge of executing all of the Port’s capital projects. She was promoted to the post in April 2017 by the Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners, having served as the Director of Construction Management since January 2014.

Past Chair Ruth Perry, PhD, Head of Regulatory Affairs, Shell Renewables and Energy Solutions
Ruth is responsible for managing regulatory affairs for Shell’s Offshore Wind Americas portfolio. Additionally, she integrates marine science and ocean technology into regulatory policy advocacy and decision-making in the areas of marine spatial planning, renewable offshore energies, ocean observing, and marine mammal and life science for Shell’s projects in the Americas. Ruth is also responsible for Shell’s U.S. ocean data and research collaborations to improve energy industry and the communities’ knowledge on co-existence of offshore energy, ocean users, and marine environment.

Secretary/Treasurer — Jason Busch, Executive Director, Pacific Ocean Energy Trust
Jason is the Executive Director of the Pacific Ocean Energy Trust, a co-chair of the Marine Energy Council, and sits on a variety of boards related to the clean energy sector. For the past ten years, Jason has focused his efforts on commercializing marine energy technologies and promoting the responsible development of marine renewable energy from waves, tides, currents and wind.

Amy Monier, Director of Projects for Floating Offshore Wind, Crowley Wind Services
Amy is responsible for leading floating offshore wind solutions and services for our clients. She brings 13+ years of professional experience in the environmental and engineering services industry and has worked throughout North America and Africa. Amy worked with global clients in oil & gas, manufacturing, renewables, and energy sectors. Her experience includes project development, engineering and design, construction/restoration, and community and regulator advocacy.
